Removing Yamaha Raider fuel tank bolt stripping?
I am in the process of removing my Yamaha Raider’s fuel tank but cannot get the front bolts to budge!
The part is #15 on Yamaha’s website, http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/parts/home.aspx
Do you know what size wrench is needed for this? I am using anything I can find right now from my monster supply of rusty allen wrenches to my socket drive set. I just cannot get these bolts to turn without starting to strip!
Get a new metric allen set. Can’t tell the size but 5mm is commonly used on my Honda.
It looks like you can remove the tank by removing bolts #17. That may be a torx head, though, so look closely. A torx set can be had from Harbor Freight for under $5
