My PC’s internal clock seems to have stopped. What has gone wrong and what should I do?
Recently, my PC’s Windows program started showing the wrong time, so I always need to go to the control panel to reset it. Is there anything that I could do (but I don’t know how to program a computer) or should I just bring the CPU to a repair shop?
there’s a battery inside the CPU, on board the motherboard where the microporcessor resides. The battery must be busted by now. rarely does it last forever, around three years would be a long/great time.
if you know how to open the CPU box you can replace it on your own, otherwise I would advice to have a technician look at it and replace the battery. the battery though would be cheap compared with the tech’s hourly wage.
If you have a computer hobby club around the corner, they might be happy to help out, and you would just shell out a couple of bucks for pizza.
