We both know their are several types of side arms,and a variety of safety’s, including the next to last step of cambering a round with your semi automatic.
Like in boxing or any acquired skill practice is necessary, a technique thought to me by a civilian was your safety should be released “or engaged” half way up from the ground before drawing down on your target.
This insures you are fully in the final stage of mind as to what you are engaging, as well you are safe and not going put a round into your foot.
As well when bringing your weapon back to a neutral position the safety should be reengaged, or released depending on the device.
